Drama Teacher

Kingston Upon Hull, East Riding of Yorkshire

Tradewind recruitment are working with an excellent partnership school in Hull, who are in need of a qualified and experienced Drama/Performing Arts teacher, to cover a staff member who has undergone a reduction of hours. This cover is needed ASAP, and is anticipated to last until at least January 2021, with the possibility of this extending further. This is a 0.2 timetable, 1 day per week, with the one day being a Friday or a Monday. There is potential for this to be increased with general cover if needed. Initially, the planning and marking will be completed for you, with payment for this position starting between £110.00 and £140.00 per day. Once established, and the exact length of the cover being clarified, then planning and marking in line with teacher duties will be expected. Once activated, teachers will be paid in accordance with the Main Teaching Pay Scale. This will last until at least Christmas, but does have potential to last until Easter 2021.

The school itself is a school in the heart of it's community, and prides itself in it's inclusivity and belief that every child matters. The school caters for students between 11-16 years old, so experience teaching to A level is not essential for this position. The school is looking for a candidate who shares their ethos. Having worked with the school for a number of years, we share an excellent relationship, and temporary staff members are treated with the respect that permanent staff members enjoy. You will be working within an established Performing Arts team, and the planning will be produced by the head of department, ensuring that it is of the highest quality. Drama and the performing arts are extremely popular subjects, and you will spend the majority of your time teaching Year 10 students. Due to the influence in their GCSEs, we are looking for a true specialist who is able to hit the ground running with the AQA scheme of work.

The other lessons on your timetable will be Year 8, who are eager and enthusiastic. We are looking for a passionate specialist who will be able to motivate and inspire students, and instil passion into them.

The role:
*Teaching GCSE Drama
*Teaching Key Stage 3 Drama
*Planning and marking in line with the national curriculum
*Assessing coursework
*Attending staff meetings and training days

This is a fantastic opportunity to work with truly excellent students and staff members, and make a difference with willing and enthusiastic learners. We are looking for a teacher with effective subject knowledge, and an eagerness to provide an excellent quality of education. You will be working with an excellent head of department who is willing to work hard to help develop staff members. For this reason, we would welcome applications from Newly Qualified Teachers.
