Tradewind recruitment is currently working with a secondary school in Redbridge to recruit a DT Technician to join the Art and Design faculty. This role is to start ASAP and will run until end of term, December 2020.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing Outstanding support to DT Teaching staff and students. The role will largely be based working with Resistant Materials, therefore the main criteria that the ideal candidate should be competent in, as stated below:

1. Monitoring and servicing of all machinery in the workshops (pillar drills, band saws, band facer, circular saw, disc sander, vacuum former, laser cutter, line bender, convection oven, wood turning machine etc ) This included changing blades or papers where required.
2. Carryout out routine maintenance work and respond to equipment faults. Diagnose breakdown problems and fit new parts and make sure equipment is working correctly
3. To cut/ prepare materials i.e. Wood ,plastic, metal for DT lessons, as requested by each member of department.

This secondary school and sixth form is located in Redbridge with excellent access to Underground and bus network.
