Are you looking for a Long Term EAL teaching position in York?

Tradewind are currently recruiting for an outstanding EAL specialist teacher who can teach at a wonderful school on the outskirts of York for a long term vacancy. This is due to start in January 2021, and will last initially until February half term 2021. You will be paid in accordance with the main pay scale, in real terms meaning the successful candidate can expect to earn between £100.00 and £184.00 per day. You will be covering for a vacant position, so there is a chance for a permanent role at the end of this.

You will be teaching the following specifications: IELTS, Cambridge First and Cambridge Preliminary exams, so experience teaching in this capacity is essential for this position, as is being Celta trained. Your typical working hours will be 8:30 to 3:50PM, but you may be required to conduct prep to 8PM one night (you will be paid extra for this day). You will be in charge of a form group, which will be a wonderful opportunity to get to know the wonderful students at the school. We are interested to hear from qualified teachers who have experience working in a similar capacity. With a large percentage of students who will be sitting their EAL exams, it is imperative to the school that they find an outstanding practitioner who cares deeply about the students in their care.

All planning and marking associated with a teaching position will be expected for this role, and as such the successful candidate can expect pay that is reflected in this. Successful candidates can expect to earn between £100.00 and £183.00 per day for this position, depending on qualifications and experience. As you will be paid to scale for this position, you will be expected to attend any parents evenings that the school are running, and you will be treated as a permanent member of staff, with PPA time and free periods for planning and marking purposes. Ideally we are looking for a practitioner who is fully qualified with QTS, but of course we will be interested in hearing from practitioners who are qualified in the FE sector, with experience teaching students in the 11-16 age range. We would be interested to hear from NQTs who are looking for their first teaching role.

Due to the location of the school it is most accessible via car, and has a large on site car park that provides ample spacing for practitioners who drive. If you rely on public transport, please don't hesitate to get in touch as we may be able to organise a car share. This is a full time vacancy, but a job share may be possible for two excellent candidates who only have part time availability. This is an absolutely wonderful school which is a true joy to work in. Typical school hours are between 8:30AM and 3:50PM.
