Tradewind are currently recruiting for an EAL tutor, to work on a long term basis in the East Riding!

Tradewind are working with an excellent school in the East Riding of Yorkshire, who are looking for a TEFL qualified EAL teacher who is available on a Friday afternoon, to remotely teach two students. This is a long term vacancy, that will likely last for the full academic year. Payment for this position will be between £18.00 and £25.00 per hour.

You will be working in a truly excellent school, with students who are extremely eager to learn. This two hour session on a Friday is on the timetable of two students, who require additional assistance, and a teacher of English as an additional language. The native language of these two students is Arabic, so being fluent in Arabic is desirable for this position, however it is by no means essential. Experience working with Arabic students, or experience in a similar position is essential for this position. You will be teaching remotely via Microsoft Teams, so experience using teams/teaching remotely would certainly be desirable for this position. While you will be teaching remotely, you will still go through the rigorous background checks for our company, and a DBS on the update system is vital for this position. You will be expected to do all of the planning associated with a teaching role for this position, but you will have access to a bank of materials, so planning will be minimal. We are looking for a practitioner who has a qualification in teaching EAL, ideally with a CELTA or TEFL qualification. Due to the nature of this role, this role would be excellent for freelance practitioners who are looking for additional hours throughout the week.

As this is a booking that is 'remote', and will likely remain remote for the full academic year, we would be eager to hear from practitioners in different regions, not just the East Riding of Yorkshire. You will be working with two students, on a 2:1 basis, so a confident practitioner who is willing to work hard to form relationships with students is definitely desirable for this position.

The school itself is an extremely high performing school that we have worked closely with for a number of years. The school performs highly because it is a centre for exceptional teaching and learning, and this could be an excellent opportunity to work with exceptional teachers. The school believes in aiding the wellbeing of each of their students, and takes the time to provide enrichment to students. Not allowing the current unprecedented situation to stop them, they are looking at alternative way (often 'virtual') to support their students.
