A lovely secondary school on the island of Guernsey is looking to appoint an enthusiastic, dynamic and well-qualified, specialist English teacher with the vision and energy to deliver high standards of teaching and learning in the area of English, and to make a full contribution to the ethos, identity and life of the School and to the Guernsey Federation of Secondary Schools.

The three Island 11-16 High Schools, the Guernsey Grammar School & Sixth Form Centre (11-18), and St Anne's School in Alderney are embarking on a federated model of partnership working led by the Director of Education.

You will be required to maximise opportunities for collaborative working, teaching and learning across Key Stages and shared professional development across schools. There is an expectation that you will engage in cross-school initiatives which may require working on more than one site to meet the needs of the Education Service.

You will be required to teach English throughout Key Stages 3 and 4, with the potential for the right candidate to teach A Level/IB. You will be able to excite and challenge learners to make rapid progress and will be able to demonstrate excellence in teaching and learning. We are looking for someone who is passionate about raising learners' individual achievements with innovative ideas to build on existing good practice.

This position is a temporary full time role which offers a competitive rate of pay (paid weekly)and includes flights to and from your placement plus accommodation for one person.

This role would be suitable for experienced practitioners and newly qualified teachers. It would also suit someone who likes a relaxed lifestyle and is happy with their own company! A great experience on a beautiful island!
