Starting in September 2020 on a fixed term contract for the full academic year this role is expected to be ongoing and lead to a permanent appointment by the school for the right teacher. Delivering English across key stages 3 and 4 you'll be joining a close knit and dedicated department under the supervision of a well-established Head of Department responsible for a team of 8 teachers.

Utilising links within the Local Academy Trust you will have access to team training, CPD and a superb framework of colleagues within your school and trust offering support and guidance. The school is currently well equipped and has plans for a new multimillion-pound building. Teaching English here focuses on imaginative ideas, purposeful work and lively discussions to engage and develop an understanding of English that will be used throughout school and life by all pupils. Visiting authors and free reading time encourage pupils to connect with the written word and explore the English subject with their own interests and on their own terms.

Rated "Good" in their last Ofsted inspection (2016) this is a community sized school of 600 pupils from the local area. A brand new, multi million-pound building is in the pipeline as part of the Governments School Building Programme. Results at KS4 are good and in line with the countries average and a key focus for the school moving forward to an "Outstanding".

Essential requirements:

Experience of teaching English across Key stages 3 and 4 is desirable and applications from NQT's or teachers returning to the profession are also welcome.
