Tradewind are looking to appoint a suitably qualified and talented English teacher to join the English Faculty from January 2021.
Tradewind are looking for a teacher of English to teach across Key Stage 3 to 5. A level experience would be desirable but not essential for this role. This client is a forward-thinking, successful, fully inclusive mixed 11-18 school in Tower Hamlets. The school was judged as 'Outstanding' by Ofsted for the second consecutive time. As a Teaching School They prioritise the professional development of staff. 'Morale is high because teachers feel treated as professionals.' (Ofsted)
They are looking for a qualified teacher of English with experience of teaching across Key Stage Three to Key Stage Four, Key stage 5 is desirable but not essential. You will be committed to inclusive education and the raising of aspiration and achievement. You will have a sound knowledge of current curriculum developments and approaches to teaching and learning, assessments and pupil progress.
You must have a high level communication, administrative and organisational skills. an excellent record of attendance and punctuality a commitment to the protection and safeguarding of children.
As a member of the English department, you be expected to;
plan and prepare courses/lessons/schemes of work
teach according to the allocated timetable
set, mark, assess and record work carried out by pupils in school and elsewhere
complete reports/profiles as required by the department and school
communicate with parents re. pupils' progress and achievements
participate in CPD activities within and beyond the school
promote and maintain the positive behaviour of pupils, safeguarding their health and safety, both in school and in authorised school activities elsewhere
participate in relevant meetings relating to curriculum, administration or organisation
