Tradewind are looking to recruit an experienced Early Years Practitioner to work closely with and support an individual child within our clients mainstream primary school, delivering a high standard of care that meets the individual needs of the child.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To carry out the responsibilities of an Early Years Practitioner as they apply to the specific child
  • To promote an atmosphere of care and enthusiasm whilst providing the day to day care of the child
  • To develop and plan for the child's individual learning needs, in particular supporting with transitions and PSE development, encouraging ongoing support with use of Individual Educational Plans (IEP's)
  • To ensure that the child reaches their full potential

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Level 2 or 3 qualified in Childcare or equivalent
  • Experience of Early Years SEN desirable, in particular ASD spectrum
  • Working knowledge of the Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage with the ability to implement policies
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a childcare setting
  • A sound knowledge of child development
  • An understanding of effective behaviour management strategies desirable, with a confidence in promoting positive behaviour in children
  • Knowledge of SEND, Code of Practice and Child Protection and Safeguarding procedures

This position is for 2 terms initially with a view to go permanent for the right candidate, whilst supporting the child 5 days per week, 8:30am - 1:30pm.
