Tradewind Recruitment are looking for creative, personable, patient EYFS teaching assistants who will be able to start in September 2020. This is an brilliant opportunity for experienced EYFS teaching assistants who have worked in a primary school or nursery setting before. We are looking for EYFS teaching assistants who have skills and experience to support children in the EYFS with a range of needs.

You will be due to start the role in September 2020 and will continue for the full academic year with the potential for a permanent placement at the end of the year in 2021.

The role:

The role will include supporting the class or 30 children and managing small groups of children. Under the guidance of the class teacher you will be writing observations, tracking progress and recording children's work. The school is looking for someone who also feels confident working with children who have special needs on a 1-1 basis. You must be someone who encourages learning and development, through play and teaching whilst creating a secure environment, using imagination to help children to learn. Part of your role will be to support two children within the classroom who have global delay and suspected Autism. They will need some 1-1 support but not all the time as they can play independently. The ideal EYFS teaching assistant will have some relevant experience with special needs and will be enthusiastic, have effective communication skill, initiative to ensure that children are understood, motivated, and in turn progress positively in their learning.



The School:

The primary school is based in the London Brough of Waltham Forest is grade good in their most recent Ofsted inspection. There is an excellent early years foundation stage and the setting is well resourced with a bright and open environment. They offer excellent weekly CPD training as well as permanent opportunities further down the line.

Essential requirements

This role requires an experienced EYFS teaching assistants
Ideally you will have a Level 2 or 3 qualification (or equivalent) in early Years childcare
You must have experience supporting children with special needs
Good knowledge and confidence with the EYFS curriculum
Phonics experience and training is bonus!
Ideally you will be local to Waltham Forest
