Tradewind Recruitment are looking to recruit an innovative and enthusiastic teacher of Design Technology to join our popular and successful DT Faculty from April 2019. The successful candidate will need to be able to Food technology & Textiles to Key Stage 3 & 4.

We are looking for a colleague who has:

KS3
During Year 7 and 8 pupils will study the different areas of Design and Technology by undertaking projects in Food Preparation and Nutrition, Graphic Products/Resistant Materials and Textiles. Each project is delivered by a specialist teacher for half a year. The KS3 course has making at its heart but also develops a wide range of creative, design and technical skills. Students may work to a set design context, they may find solutions to problems they identify or they may complete short tasks to develop their thinking and making skills.
KS4
In Year 9, pupils decide which specialist area of Design & Technology they would like to take as their GCSE option. Pupils can opt to study one of the following areas:
Graphic Products
Home Economics
Textiles and Fashion
At Key Stage 4, pupils will all undertake a coursework project or projects in their chosen discipline. These projects are set by the exam boards and interpreted by the students. This will account for 50% of their final mark, with the remaining 50% being awarded through a written exam.
The person specification of this role would be to promote the highest standards of achievement for all students by creating challenging and stimulating teaching and learning resources. You would maintain a very positive learning environment in the classroom or work-place and demonstrate the highest standards of personal conduct and self-responsibility from students.
