We are looking to recruit a passionate and enthusiastic Teacher of Food to work in a lovely school with outstanding facilities on the island of Alderney in the Channel Islands. This position is starting in September until Christmas but could be extended. You will be required to teach up to GCSE only.

This school is committed to providing an excellent education for all students enabling them to enjoy and achieve high levels of learning. They address the diverse needs and aspirations of our students, offering an excellent foundation in all aspects of learning, to challenge and prepare them for a successful future.

The school recognises and nurtures each student as a unique person. They are dedicated to developing in their students the qualities and skills necessary to become safe, healthy, confident, self-motivated and independent individuals prepared for the responsibilities of adult life and their own economic well-being.

The successful candidate will be/have:
*Able to commit to one full term on the island of Alderney, and have no commitments in the UK that may prevent them from staying on the island from September to December.
*A Qualified teacher who can teach resistant materials across GCSE.
*The ability to work alone, and plan, prepare and deliver exciting and innovating lessons.
*The ability to differentiate as there is a vast range of abilities within the school.
*Strong classroom management, and able to manage any challenging behaviour in a calm and effective manner.
*Comfortable with their own company, or enjoy making friends with the locals and other supply teachers on the island!
*Happy to work on a small island that has around only approximately 63,000 people, a limited amount of shops and restaurants, and with inflated prices (the cost of living is higher than the UK).

In return the successful candidate can expect:
*Free flights to and from their placement
*Free accommodation including utility bills paid for
*A competitive daily rate of up to £180 per day
*The chance to enjoy and experience island life, with beautiful scenery and beaches!
