A bit about the role:

This client is looking for someone to help in the development of a Food Tech subject action plan, annually which will be linked to the School Development Plan. You will be responsible for evaluating, developing and ordering resources for Food Tech to meet the needs of the full range of pupils, and to ensure that their subject area is fully resourced. You will be involved in developing and maintaining an up to date policy and/or scheme of work for the Food Tech curriculum area which:

enables children to achieve the best work of which they are capable
takes account of children's specific learning difficulties and overcomes barriers to learning
finds creative solutions to the fact that children stay at Fairley House School for varying lengths of time (the average stay being 2 to 3 years) and arrive at different stages in their school careers
incorporates metacognition and transdisciplinary working
incorporates successful lesson plans and materials

Part of your role will be monitoring progress in the Food Tech curriculum area through observation or scrutiny of work and liaising with senior management on action needed. Keeping up to date, through reading and attending INSET courses and by developing links with sources of expertise beyond school. To run lunch time and afterschool clubs and to arrange visits to workshops for Yr6 and KS3/KS4.
