Foundation Stage Teacher

Salary: Competitive, based on experience

We are recruiting on a behalf of a Primary City Academy who are committed to providing high-quality education for young learners. The Foundation Stage program focuses on fostering children's social, emotional, and academic development through play-based learning and exploration.

Role Overview:
As a Foundation Stage Teacher, you will play a key role in shaping the educational experiences of children aged 3 to 5 years old. You will create engaging and developmentally appropriate learning activities, foster positive relationships with students and families, and lay the foundation for future academic success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging and creative lessons and activities that support children's social, emotional, and academic development.
  • Create a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment where every child feels safe, valued, and supported.
  • Implement a play-based curriculum that encourages exploration, inquiry, and hands-on learning experiences.
  • Assess children's progress and provide regular feedback to parents/carers, identifying areas of strength and areas for growth.
  • Collaborate with teaching assistants and support staff to meet the individual needs of all students, including those with additional learning needs or English as an Additional Language (EAL).
  • Establish positive partnerships with parents/carers, providing regular communication, updates, and opportunities for involvement in their child's learning journey.
  • Participate in staff meetings, professional development opportunities, and school events, contributing to the wider school community and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, with experience teaching in Early Years/Foundation Stage settings preferred.
  • Strong understanding of early childhood development and best practices in early years education.
  • Ability to plan and deliver engaging, play-based learning experiences that meet the diverse needs of young learners.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children, parents/carers, and colleagues.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and reflective practice.
  • Pay from M1 - M6 depending on experience
