Tradewind are currently working with an excellent education provider in Hull, who are in need of a Functional Skills tutor, to work on a part time basis (preferably 2 days a week), working with entry level students on a long term basis. This is an open position that has been created due to additional funding, so if the successful candidate enjoys the placement and excels, there may be the potential for a permanent position at the end of the placement. Initially though, you are looking at work until the end of the academic year. You will be working on a 121 basis (or often a small group basis) with students with severe additional needs, so SEN experience is desirable for this position, as is having a formal teaching qualification (PGCE or equivalent). Payment for this position will be £100.00 per day. This is a unique opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of students who need some additional support, and you will have the added advantage at working at a wonderful provider who truly value the education of their students. Ideally, we are looking for someone who is free to start work straight away, and as such we are looking for a practitioner who has a valid enhanced DBS, that is on the update service. You will be liaising with other practitioners to ensure that the learners in your care achieve the best possible outcomes in their literacy functional skills.


The setting is situated in Hull, and is easily accessible via public transport, with a large onsite car park which is free and accessible for all staff. Your typical working hours will be between 9AM and 3:30PM, but you may be asked to occasionally work an additional half day (1PM - 3:30PM) which will be paid additionally.
