Tradewind are working with a wonderful academy, that is situated between York and Hull, in the East Riding of Yorkshire. The academy require a teacher of Geography on a full time basis, and have a confirmed need until at least February half term 2021. All planning and marking associated with a teaching role is expected for this position, and for this reason you will be paid to scale in accordance with the Main Teaching Pay Scale. There is potential to negotiate this to a part time contract, for the right candidate. We are looking for a practitioner who can start as soon as possible.

You will be working in a truly excellent school that has wonderful student behaviour, where staff morale is high. The school caters for a large percentage of pupil premium students, and works tirelessly to ensure that they receive the highest possible level of education. The location of the school is perfect, being midway between Hull and York, making it commutable from either City. There is a large onsite car park that is free to use for all staff. The school are working continuously hard to ensure that they remain as COVID safe as possible, and have excellent stringent methods in place to ensure that these are adhered to.

The successful candidate will be expected to teach Geography to Key Stage 3 and 4 students. The academy does have a sixth form, so there is potential for A Level teaching, for candidates who have the experience or desire to teach A Level. This will most likely be teaching to First Year students. The Humanities department is a large department, that is run by an excellent and experienced staff member. You will be working directly under the 'Lead Teacher' of Geography, an excellent practitioner with a huge range of Geography resources. Planning for this position will be minimal, due to the comprehensive amount of resources available. As you will be working with experienced staff members, NQTs are welcome to apply for this position, and completing a term of your NQT is a possibility during this role.

*Teaching KS3 and KS4 Geography (potentially KS5)
*Planning and marking in line with the national curriculum
*Teaching KS3 History (potentially)
*Attending after school meetings and parents evenings

Experience working in a secondary school
QTS
