Geography Teacher
Are you able to teach Geography to pupils in years 7,8 and 9? Perhaps you're a cover supervisor with a humanities degree looking for a step up and chance to build on your classroom experience before teacher training?
Tradewind are looking for a positive Geography Teacher to teach at an inclusive Secondary Academy based in Stevenage to teach and support with Geography lessons from January 2024. We are looking for someone to join a collaborative teaching department and lead with lessons to pupils in Key Stage 3 (years 7-9). The school have a superb culture and passion for developing teaching staff and supporting trainee teachers or instructors with superb mentors and Training options and is open to instructors or those working on an unqualified basis looking for an increase on their salary.
This is a busy and vibrant school with a diverse pupil population who come from a wide and non-selective intake across a local catchment area. Results continue to improve and now sit just below the county average. Continuing year on year with the schools improvement plan pupils are keen to learn and can occasionally display challenging behaviour. So practitioners with a positive outlook and a range of behaviour techniques are encouraged to apply.
To join us and be successful in this Geography Teacher role you will need to:
- Ideally, hold a Geography teaching qualification, degree or background with another Humanities subject. Applications are welcomed from those with experience teaching overseas or working on an unqualified basis.
- You will need to be able to produce an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) or be willing to apply for one - Tradewind are happy to support with these and even offer reimbursement schemes! A minimum or two professional reference checks are also required.
- A CV covering a full employment history until education
- You hold and be able to present the legal right to work in the UK
