Are you a graduate looking to embark on a rewarding journey towards becoming a teacher? We are currently seeking a dedicated Graduate Teaching Assistant to join a secondary school starting January 15th 2023.

This school was awarded good in their most recent Ofsted report. The school has a broad curriculum to ensure that all pupils can access the curriculum and they have a very inclusive approach. With a commitment to fostering a love for education, they offer a supportive community that values creativity, investigative learning, and personal growth.

The Role:

As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will play a pivotal role helping students in their educational journey. Working closely with experienced teachers and staff, you will have the opportunity to gain invaluable hands-on experience, develop your teaching skills, and make a positive impact on young learners. You will be working with students in class who requite additional support for learning or who may have special needs. The school has taken grad TA's through teacher training in the past so this could be a brilliant opportunity to train as a teacher and get paid for it!

Responsibilities:

  • Support teachers in planning and delivering engaging lessons across various subjects.
  • Assisting students with special needs in class.
  • Assist in the preparation of classroom materials, ensuring a vibrant and interactive learning environment.
  • Provide one-on-one support to students who require additional assistance, helping them to overcome challenges and achieve their full potential.
  • Lead small group activities and facilitate discussions to encourage active student participation.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback and maintaining accurate records.
  • Help maintain a safe and inclusive classroom environment, promoting positive behaviour and effective classroom management.

To be considered for this role:

  • A bachelor's degree in education or a relevant field
  • Possess an Enhanced DBS Disclosure
  • Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable)
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude
  • Provide professional reference checks.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Contract Details:

This is a full-time position, Monday to Friday, contracted hours are 8.00am - 4.00pm Monday - Thursday, 8.00am - 3.45pm Friday. The contract will begin on January 15th, until July 2024.

The salary available is £85-90 per day.
