This client is a highly successful, oversubscribed comprehensive girl's school situated in the heart of Tower Hamlets This school sets high standards in every area of school life and consequently which in n turns makes if a disciplined, happy and caring place to work.

Our client is looking to appoint an ambitious and highly motivated Teacher of Graphics with a real passion for teaching and learning, to join our successful department from September 2020.

You will be joining a high achieving, over-subscribed girl's school producing excellent rates of student progression. You will be joining a great Design Technology Faculty and will be responsible for teaching Graphics at both Key Stage 3 & 4.
KS3
During Year 7 and 8 pupils will study the different areas of Design and Technology by undertaking projects in Food Preparation and Nutrition, Graphic Products/Resistant Materials and Textiles. Each project is delivered by a specialist teacher for half a year. The KS3 course has making at its heart but also develops a wide range of creative, design and technical skills. Students may work to a set design context, they may find solutions to problems they identify or they may complete short tasks to develop their thinking and making skills.
KS4
In Year 9, pupils decide which specialist area of Design & Technology they would like to take as their GCSE option. Pupils can opt to study one of the following areas:
Graphic Products
Home Economics
Textiles and Fashion

At Key Stage 4, pupils will all undertake a coursework project or projects in their chosen discipline. These projects are set by the exam boards and interpreted by the students. This will account for 50% of their final mark, with the remaining 50% being awarded through a written exam.

You will benefit from working in a professional environment that is focused on supporting staff wellbeing by having manageable teaching contact time, meeting cycles and assessment, recording and reporting expectations.

They are looking for someone who has excellent subject knowledge of teaching both Key Stage 3 and the ability to teach GCSE with particular emphasis on academic stretch and challenge. The desire to improve this subject knowledge as well as your teaching through working collaboratively within a subject team. You must have outstanding interpersonal and communication skills.
