About the School - Head of Chemistry - Tower Hamlets, East London
This is an exciting co-educational, modern Secondary School located in central Hackney. It has recently been awarded a 'Good' overall grade during a recent visit by Ofsted who commented on the excellent level of behaviour throughout the school. All subjects at this school perform well and Science achieves above national average grades at GCSE level with A-Level grades also being impressive. The science block has recently been fully refurbished and offers state of the art teaching areas that are fully resourced. The science department currently consists of 9 full time teachers who are at various stages of their careers. There is a real sense of achievement in the department as excellent results and growing numbers of students selecting to study science at A-Level standard has risen the profile for all involved. This school has a strong senior leadership team who believe in offering a work-life balance for all staff. To that end all teachers are given extra PPA above legal requirements.

*Head of Chemistry is a vitally important role to the Science department and wider school. This role is suitable for someone who has experience in a managerial role or someone who is stepping up into the position although the subject knowledge and background in successfully teaching through to KS5 chemistry is essential.
*Although this is a 'Good' Ofsted School with good behaviour the school is still looking for a confident Chemistry Teacher who can manage a class of 30 inner city pupils. The ability to inspire and progress is essential.
