About the School - Head of History - Croydon, South East London

This highly successful academy is home to brand new contemporary buildings, a learning resource centre and a large multi-acre outdoor complex. This fantastic secondary school has been on an upward trajectory to success where students are now achieving strong GCSE and A level results across all subjects. History is a popular subject across KS4 and the school is now seeking a committed History leader who will be able to promote this across KS5 and increase intakes over the coming year. As Head of History, you will be managing 3 other History teachers which includes experienced History specialists and a recently qualified History teacher. For this role, you will be confident in performance management, observations and using data effectively to progress all students. Therefore, through this position you will be responsible for ensuring that all pupils are motivated and high expectations are consistently maintained in your department. This fantastic school additionally offers internal progression through personalised CPD and ongoing support from Senior Leadership. About the Role - Head of History - Croydon, South East London

Previous leadership experience for this position - either Lead Practitioner, Head of History or Second in Charge experience.
QTS achieved in Secondary History Teaching.
Understanding of GCSE and A-Level teaching
Excellent subject knowledge within History teaching and the ability to develop other members of staff through this.
The suitable candidate will be a Head of History who is confident in ensuring rapid progress with children of all backgrounds
The school is seeking a professional Head of History with "outstanding" behaviour management expectations and a hardworking ethos.
