About the School - Head of History - Newham, East London
Located in the popular, vibrant borough of Newham with great links into central London and Essex this dynamic community secondary school is looking to appoint a suitably experienced History Teacher who can take on the post of Head of History from September. This is a 'Good' Ofsted School that when inspected was also praised for the student's excellent behaviour and desire to achieve the best they can. The school has a mixed intake of pupils from a range of different social and cultural backgrounds but all enjoy working and learning together in a great environment. History as a subject at this school is popular through to A-Level. Results in the subject mirror the upward trend of all subjects at this school, rising year on year. Currently the History department has two full time teachers and this post will be in addition to the current set up.

*QTS and a degree in History
*Strong experience of teaching through to A-Level in the U.K with excellent results
*Clear understanding of the principals of effective teaching
*Ability to motivate, engage and progress pupils from all backgrounds
*Ability to support and develop staff at all levels of their career
*Excellent subject knowledge
