Tradewind Recruitment are seeking a Head of MFL to work within a successful independent, co-educational school located near Lewisham. The school is based across 2 sites, providing a first-class education to around 900 pupils, aged 3 - 18 years.
The Post

We seek an experienced, well-qualified, committed and inspirational practitioner to lead a highly committed MFL Faculty. The successful candidate will join a friendly and supportive team of seven staff (and two FLA's), and would be required to teach across the full age range. A willingness to contribute to co-curricular activities is essential.

Introduction to the Faculty
The Languages Faculty consists of Spanish, French, German and Mandarin. Students in Year 7 are taught Spanish with a carousel of taster sessions for Mandarin, French and German. All students continue with Spanish in Year 8 and 9 and can choose to continue with one of the other language options.

Co-curricular activities are an essential part of raising the profile of the languages department and creating the linguists of the future. For example, the department hosts a visiting theatre company performing plays in French and Spanish.
The department consists of a Head of Faulty, as well as teachers of French, Spanish and Mandarin. In addition to this, the school has Foreign Language Assistants for German and Spanish.

You will be offered:
* Students who are eager to learn, well-behaved and very proud of their school
* Exceptional focus on continuous professional development
* A culture of high expectations of students and staff
* An appetite for creativity and continuous improvement
* A dedicated, caring and experienced staff team
* Purpose-built teaching and learning facilities
* A supportive and committed Governing Body and leadership team.

To be successful in this role you will need to:
*Be a Teacher of MFL with QTS status or equivalent teaching qualification.
*Have excellent knowledge of the MFL curriculum.
*This position is subject to an Enhanced DBS disclosure, Overseas Police Clearance (if applicable) and professional reference checks.
*Your CV must cover the last 10 years of employment history where possible and any employment breaks must be explained.
*You must have the legal right to work in the UK.
