Located in Lewisham this progressive and high achieving school sits at the heart of the community with a very diverse intake of local students. The school sets high expectations, with a 'no excuses' policy that leaves them accountable, and breeds a culture of personal responsibility that works exceptionally well in driving standards and success. They have been through some very successful management changes that have led to improved attainment across the school, with last year being record results at both GCSE and A Level. Modern Foreign Languages is a popular department, and critical to the success and development of these students. They currently teach French and Spanish to KS4 and are seeking a teacher who can speak either language to lead the setting. This school has few behaviour issues; pupils that are confident but respectful and there is low staff turnover. Parents, teachers and students work very collaboratively to drive initiatives throughout the school. All in all, this is a well-regarded school and it's not hard to see why!

About the role - Head of MFL - Lewisham, South London

The school is looking for an inspirational teacher who is keen to grow their career in line with the school's development. This position would suit an MFL Teacher or current Leader looking to take a step up with the ability to teach through to KS4.
You will be responsible for the successful delivery of French and Spanish across the school, and shaping how this is taught to get the best results possible and inspire a love of languages in students.
The school is great at offering all staff ongoing training and development opportunities, plus career progression based on performance for ambitious teachers.
