Starting September 2020

An enthusiastic and innovative lecturer is required to take an important role in the delivery of full time and part time courses in Health and Social Care. Currently the provision uses predominantly Btec qualifications, across levels 1 to 3 but also a small number of OCR and City and Guilds courses.
Working with the Programme Leader and the wider department team, the lecturer will plan, provide and monitor high quality teaching and assessment of students work.
The lecturer will also provide support and guidance in preparing students for further/higher
education, training or employment. The lecturer will have an outward facing approach to engaging learners in the wider community and vice versa to ensure that learners gain a vocationally relevant and enriching experience.

KEY CRITERIA:
ESSENTIAL-

 A suitable professional qualification relevant to the vocational setting and relevant vocational experience in the Health and Social Care sector.
 A teaching qualification, with experience of delivering education or training to a range of levels and abilities in a Further Education or professional setting and a willingness to study for a recognised L5 teaching qualification if required.
 Maths and English qualifications at level 2.
 Experience of effective planning, delivering, assessing and evaluating high quality early
years/early education qualifications or training to a range of levels and abilities.
 Experience of developing innovative, enriching and vocationally relevant programmes to fully engage learners.
 Ability to make effective use of ICT to enhance teaching and learning.
 An ability to demonstrate effective strategies to achieve high quality teaching and learning outcomes.
 Evidence of recent continuing professional development.
 The ability to work effectively as part of a team producing positive results for learners.
 Effective communication skills to develop and maintain positive working relationships with a wide range of people including colleagues, students, parents and key external stakeholders.
 Effective organisational, time management and administrative skills.
 Proven ability to work on own initiative.

DESIRABLE:
 A Level 5 teaching qualification with QTLS status.
 Able to teach in the wider programme area including Public Services


This position is a temporary full time role which offers a competitive rate of pay (paid weekly)and includes flights to and from your placement plus accommodation for one person.

This role would be suitable for experienced practitioners and newly qualified teachers. It would also suit someone who likes a relaxed lifestyle and is happy with their own company! A great experience on a beautiful island!
