Tradewind are working with an excellent school in Hull, who are looking for an outstanding Health and Social Care teacher, who can join their extremely successful department, on a full time basis, starting in January 2021. This is a maternity cover position, and will last until at least the end of the academic year (July 2021), with the possibility of it extending for a full year, until January 2022. In terms of payment, this will be scaled to the Main Teaching Pay Scale. While there is enough lessons for a full time teacher, the school in question are eager to hear from part time applicants, and could possibly work out a timetable down to a 0.6 (3 days per week).
This is a wonderful school, that is extremely high achieving, and improves year on year. New to working with Tradewind, I have been extremely impressed by their student centred approach, and their world class teaching and learning. You will be working within a small, close-knit social sciences team, who are extremely welcoming. All social sciences have proved to be extremely highly popular with the students, and you will have the pleasure of teaching extremely engaged students. The school is an 11-18 school, who has an ever growing 6th form. The 6th form has it's own area, and has wonderful amenities for the students. This is an extremely organised department, with a huge bank of resources.
In terms of your teaching timetable, you will be teaching A Health and Social Care, and Health and Social Care BTEC Level 2/3 to both first and second year students. For this reason, we are looking for a true Health and Social Care specialist, who has experience teaching A level Health and Social Care to high achieving students.
The role:
*Teaching Key Stage 5 Health and Social Care
*Planning and marking in line with the national curriculum
*Working within the social sciences team to create high quality resources for the students
This is a fantastic opportunity to work with truly excellent students and staff members, and make a difference with willing and enthusiastic learners. We are looking for a teacher with effective subject knowledge, and an eagerness to provide an excellent quality of education. You will be working with an excellent head of department who is willing to work hard to help develop staff members. For this reason, we would welcome applications from Newly Qualified Teachers for this position.
Essential requirements:
A teaching qualification (PGCE or equivalent)
All work with Tradewind requires a DBS on the update service, and collection of at least two verified references.
