Tradewind Hull are working with one of our fantastic partnership schools in Hull, who are looking for a part time (3 days a week) Health and Social Care teacher to start ASAP. There is potential for this to be made up to full time for the right candidate, if that is a preference. This position is to cover a sickness absence, and the member of staff is not planning to return until September 2021. All planning and marking associated with a teaching role will be expected for this position, and for that reason payment will be paid to scale, between £110.00 and £189.53 per day, depending on experience and qualifications.

You will mainly be teaching Year 12 and 13 students, so for this reason QTS is not essential, but having a PGCE is essential. You will be teaching A Level and BTEC Health and Social Care. Experience teaching A Level Health and Social Care is desirable for this position, and if no experience in teaching Health and Social Care, then a relevant qualification and teaching experience is essential. There will be one lesson of Year 11 Health and Social Care to oversee.

This teaching will initially be based in the classroom. The school itself is a wonderful school, with a great reputation in the area. There is a large onsite car park for candidates who drive, and is on multiple bus routes for candidates who don't.

The role:

  • Teaching A Level Health and Social Care Teacher
  • Teaching BTEC Level 2/3 Health and Social Care
  • Planning and marking in line with the national curriculum
  • Assessing coursework
  • Attending staff meetings and training days

Essential requirements:
A teaching qualification (PGCE or equivalent)

All work with Tradewind requires a DBS on the update service, and collection of at least two verified references.
