The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and organisation skills. They will be a team player and committed to the school's inclusive ethos. This role requires candidates to have a strong understanding of SEN needs. The Teaching Assistant would support planning and assessment of learning needs and be expected to take a proactive role in the provision.

The role would involve supporting students to develop basic skills in language, reading, writing, spelling and mathematics. The Teaching Assistant would also play a part in encouraging concentration and role modelling positive social skills. The ability to be creative, proactive and build positive rapport with students will be vital in this role.

The Teaching Assistant will:
*Be qualified to BSL Level 2 or higher
*Have experience supporting secondary students with hearing impairments
*Differentiate lessons to suit the needs and abilities of learners in the class
*Work under the guidance of the class teacher and report to the Head of the Hearing-Impaired Provision
*Provide support according to each pupils EHCP
*Work 1:1 or in small groups with students in the class
