About the School - History Teacher - Barking, East London

Located in the vibrant, East London borough of Barking, this large Academy school has been providing a high level of education to local pupils since opening in 2010. The school has a varied intake of pupils from a range of different social and cultural backgrounds which means this is a cosmopolitan school to teach at. The school has high levels of children who have English as an additional language. This means that the school must work hard to bridge this knowledge gap but unlike many other schools does not focus only on academic success and university entries. This school provides an all-round education for its students and will encourage them to follow whatever path they want their career to follow hence why the school offers a good deal of vocational qualifications. This school has few behaviour issues, pupils that are confident but respectful and a settled staff with low turnover. The school is on a journey of improvement and a recent monitoring visit by Ofsted has commented on the excellent progress made to improve the school to a 'Good' status.



Role requirements - History Teacher - Barking, East London

QTS Qualified History Teacher with any level of experience to teach from KS3 through to A-Level.
School is looking to appoint a teacher who is confident in their ability to teach 'Good' or better lessons on a consistent basis. Although behaviour is good at the school those joining will still need the confidence to manage and inspire a range of classes.
This school offers an excellent induction programme for NQT's and ongoing professional development for all. Those with a desire to improve and develop would be best fit.
