Tradewind are currently working with an excellent secondary school in Scunthorpe who are searching for a History teacher to work from half term until the end of the academic year. This position will involve teaching approximately 12 History lessons, 2 Geography lessons, and the rest of the timetable will be made up doing general cover teaching if needed. If cover is not needed in-house, this means that you will have extra free periods. On a Friday, there are no scheduled lessons, so there is a chance of a free Friday depending on how the cover schedule looks. For the History, all planning and marking associated with a teaching role is expected, as are any parent's evenings. For this reason, payment will be scaled to MPS, meaning teachers can expect to earn between £120.00 and £179.00 for this position.

The school is a Church of England school with a clear ethos to provide an outstanding education for all students regardless of their starting points. Striving to be the heart of the local community, the school has strong student centred values, and is an excellent place to work. The school is small, catering for approximately 800 students, meaning that teachers have the advantage of knowing most of the students at the academy. Having a small school feel, students recognise their teachers even if they do not teach them personally, and there is great respect between students and teachers.

Predominantly we are looking for a History specialist who has experience teaching History to Key Stage 4 students. While the GCSE classes are now finished (year 11), the successful candidate will be teaching a couple of Year 10 classes, so knowledge of the GCSE curriculum is important. The 2 lessons of Geography per week will be pre-planned and will be to Key Stage 3 students, so knowledge of Geography is not required at all for this position, just a willingness to deliver the subject. There is, for the right candidate, the potential for this to carry on into the next academic year, and possibly even go permanent, for the right candidate, so candidates interested in a permanent job should also consider applying for this position.

The general cover portion of the placement will involve a range of different subjects, but will not include PE or DT. A good strong behaviour manager is required for this.

We are looking for:
*A History specialist who can teach History to Key Stage 4 students.
*A committed practitioner who wants to attain the highest standards for their students.
*A practitioner who is dedicated to creating innovative lessons for their students.
*A teacher with QTS (or equivalent teaching qualification).

The school is incredibly accessible, being extremely close to a bus stop, so driving is not essential to get to this school. For those that do drive, there is ample on site parking.

The school can offer you:
*Excellent CPD and room for professional development.
*A strong, cohesive department.
*The opportunity to explore your teaching techniques.

By registering with Tradewind, we can offer you:

*We attract top education talent and in return offer top rates of pay
*We care about your training and development more than any other agency - which is why we can offer you more certified CPD courses than any other education recruitment agency, 30 to be exact! That's 23 more than our next nearest competitor
