Tradewind Hull are working with one of our fantastic partnership schools in Hull, who are looking for a full time teacher of ICT to start in February 2021, or April 2021. This position will last until the end of the academic year, and is to cover an open vacancy, so there is the potential for a permanent position at the end of this placement. All planning and marking associated with a teaching role will be expected for this position, and for that reason the position will be paid to scale (up to M6).

You will exclusively be teaching Year 12 and 13 students, so for this reason QTS is not essential, but having a PGCE is essential. You will be teaching Level 2 and 3 IT, so a strong subject knowledge in these areas are essential. There is potential for another subject on the timetable, either Computer Science or Maths, depending on skills/expertise. There is potential for a TLR in this position, with potential position of 'head of department' available for the right candidate. While there is this potential, it is by no means essential, so less experienced candidates or newly qualified candidates should still apply for the position. You will be working within a large faculty, with experienced staff members who are extremely supportive.

Easily accessible from most areas of Hull via public transport, the school is an easy commute. There is a large, free, onsite car park for those candidates who drive. Catering for over 1000 students, this large, educational establishment is region leading in its provision to Post 16 students. Having worked with this setting for a number of years, we know first hand the care taken to provide temporary staff members with a pleasant experience, ensuring that staff are integrated and settled quickly.

The role:

• Teaching BTEC ICT to Key Stage 5 students
• Planning and marking in line with the national curriculum
• Assessing coursework
• Attending staff meetings and training days

Essential requirements:
A teaching qualification (PGCE or equivalent)
