Intervention teacher

Tradewind are working with a primary school in the Leigh, Wigan area looking to employ an intervention teacher. To start November 2020 working full time until May 2021 with the potential to extend on further for the right teacher

This role will involve you working with small groups of children, in groups of no more than 6 at a time rather than full class teaching. You will be working with those children who are tracking behind target, some of which may have additional special educational needs such as ASD therefore prior experience working children with SEND would be beneficial.

Many of these students who require additional support will have fallen behind their peers during the Covid 19 lockdown and will need additional support to close the attainment gap as well as support back into the routine of school and reinforce positive behaviour for learning.

The school is a 2-form entry and you will be working closely with the class teachers in terms of planning and assessment. You will also be involved in tracking and monitoring progress for each child you work with. You may work closely with the SENCO and will have some responsibility for managing other staff in particular supporting teaching assistants with preparing for the interventions and ensuring they have all plans and further challenges for students.

The school has a Covid safe risk assessment in place which will be explained in detail to you by the school. Tradewind also provide additional covid training prior to going into school.

To join us and be successful in this Intervention teacher role you will need to:
*Hold QTS status
*Experience in a similar role
*Up to date knowledge of the KS1 and KS2 curriculum
*Have a good understanding of how to inspire and motivate a love of learning in children
*This position is subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearance (if applicable and professional reference checks.
*Your CV must cover the last 10 years of employment history, where possible, and any employment breaks must be explained.
*You must have the legal right to work in the UK.
