Intervention SEN Teaching Assistants

Tradewind are working with a number of schools in the Wigan area seeking Teaching Assistants level 2 or above to work with groups of KS2 students within their intervention unit, starting as soon as possible working full time.

Many of the students have the diagnosis of ASD or ADHD so prior experience of supporting children with these needs is required either within mainstream or SEN settings. A calm and consistent approach is required for this role. The role will involve helping to integrate students back into school after the lockdown period and to help bridge the attainment gap which has opened up over lockdown by undertaking one to one or small group interventions in English and Maths across years 5 and year 6.

For these roles within Wigan, teaching assistants must be confident adapting plans on a 1:1 basis, marking and ensuring additional resources for future challenges are available. You will be working alongside an experienced teach to support children across KS2 this is role is available due to additional funding within school and will be continuing on an ongoing basis.

This Wigan school has a Covid safe risk assessment in place and all staff will be fully briefed. The school has a large secure car park for staff and has excellent links with public transport making it easily accessible for.

*Have a calm and consistent approach
*Have previous experience of working with children with ADHD and ASD.
*This position is subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearance (if applicable and professional reference checks and you must be happy to make the initial payment for the check which can be claimed back once you have worked 20 days for Tradewind.
*Your CV must cover the last 10 years of employment history, where possible, and any employment breaks must be explained.
*You must have the legal right to work in the UK.
