About the School:

This is a great school in North London, (Barnet borough), with good transport links and staff parking. The school is led by an established Headteacher and senior management team and there is a very busy and productive atmosphere at the school. The leadership team has recently led a review into workload to try to help staff maintain good work: life balance and after their last Ofsted inspection, they were graded as "good".

Standards are very high and there are some very able children here, with the school takes great pride in the progress made by the children. The Headteacher puts this down to the dedication of the team and they also benefit from very supportive parents, who are keen to help their children reach their full potential.

The school is well-resourced, with a large playground and also a playing field.

The Role:

The school is seeking a Key Stage 2 teacher to start in September 2020, for at least one academic year, until July 2021. The actual year group and class is to be decided, depending on the needs of the school at the time, but they will always try to accommodate teacher's preferences, where possible so there is some flexibility. Each year in the school has a year group leader and planning is completed as a shared exercise on a weekly basis, to share ideas, activities, and resources. The role will come with the usual responsibilities of a class teacher, including planning, assessment, marking, parent consultation evenings etc. A positive, patient approach is essential. The school is open to appointing a newly qualified teacher (NQT) or an experienced teacher.
