Tradewind is looking to recruit an experienced teacher to deliver targeted interventions to small groups of children across KS2. This is a full time role which will run for two terms commencing January 2021. The successful candidate will have proven success accelerating pupil progress through carefully considered interventions and will be confident adjusting and adapting teaching and learning strategies to meet the needs of individual learners. This position comes with a competitive rate of pay that meets your experience and suitability. Regrettably, the school will not be able to accept applications from NQT's.
About the School:
This is a larger than average size school (three form entry) and delivers an inspiring, rich curriculum for children between the ages of three and eleven. The school prides itself on its ability to encourage all pupils to achieve their learning potential not only academically, but with wider talents and skill-sets within a safe, inclusive environment. The school supports the message that participation, enjoyment and happiness are three core values in which teaching and learning revolve around and that every individual can positively contribute to society.
The school was recently judged 'Good' in their latest OFSTED inspection with the report praising the school for significant growth in reading and writing across the school. This success is largely due to a motivated Headteacher who is driven towards continuous positive change and she is supported by an effective Senior Leadership Team who are dedicated towards their role in school and work hard towards achieving desired goals.
What we are looking for:
The successful candidate must uphold excellent standards of teaching and learning across the curriculum.
You will be expected to meet regularly with class teachers to map out specific objectives and plan interventions to bridge the learning gaps.
You must be confident in differentiating tasks to meet the needs and requirements of individual learners and integrate a variety of resources that support visual, audio and kinaesthetic learning preferences.
You will effectively assess learning and provide both verbal and written feedback to pupils with action points to address misconceptions and/or consolidate learning.
You will collaborate with class teachers and the SENDCO to report on pupil performance and evaluate the effectiveness of the interventions in relation to individual academic targets.
You will have a secure knowledge and understanding of age related expectations in the core subjects across KS2 and monitor progress towards these expectations.
After visiting this school, it is clear that the school has developed strong relationships with local families and the wider community, supporting an ethos where everybody feels a sense of belonging. The Headteachers sees staff as being the vital ingredient in the schools success and provides high-quality in house CPD throughout the academic year.
If you believe you will be a valuable addition to this school and will excel as a KS2 intervention teacher, we would love to hear from you.
