On behalf of our client school, Tradewind are looking for a teacher who can work across Year 4 and Year 5 in a wonderful Catholic school based in Dukinfield, Tameside. The school will pay up to £180 per day for the right candidate and hope to build a strong relationship with a regular member of staff who will become part of the team! This Year 4/Year 5 position would commence after half-term until at least Easter with the likelihood of the placement being extended until the end of the academic year.

About the Role

This cover is a result of staff members being released for non-contact time so the school are ideally looking for commitment from a strong KS2 teacher who will uphold outstanding teaching standards and support the Year 4 and Year 5 classes, ensuring every child reaches their potential. The school are looking to appoint someone with direct experience in KS2, strong subject knowledge and an ability to hit the ground running resulting in a successful placement.

Key Responsibilities

-The successful member of staff will have a sound knowledge and understanding of the KS2 curriculum and ideally have direct experience teaching in Year 4 and 5

-Maintain outstanding standards of teaching and learning in line with curriculum schemes followed at the school

-Be able to scaffold and stretch learning to maximise potential and drive progress

-To use a variety of assessment tools to determine progress and gain feedback for future planning

-Liaise with members of the KS2 department to ensure continuity and support best practice

-Build a strong, respectful rapport with pupils and implement the schools behaviour management policy within the class to maintain school wide consistency

-Read and adhere to all school policies including Safeguarding, behaviour and assessment.

Essential Requirements

  • You must hold QTS status or an equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Have demonstrated success in the primary setting with excellent references to support your previous experience
  • This position is subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional reference checks.
  • Provide a CV with at least 10 years employment/education history included and employment breaks must be explained
  • Have the legal right to work in the UK
