Tradewind are currently recruiting for a QTS qualified primary Teacher to work at a Primary Pupil Referral Unit in Islington, North London, teaching a small Key Stage 2 class.

The role is part time (two days per week) and long-term starting in January 2021 until the end of the academic year.



The school is a Good Ofsted rated school providing for students who are at risk of exclusion or have been excluded from mainstream settings and those who are awaiting an alternate appropriate educational setting. The school holds the belief that each and every student is entitled to another chance and that they can and will achieve. Students usually present with behavioural difficulties, linked to SEBD and or SEMH (social, emotional and behavioural difficulties / mental health needs). Class sizes are small, between 4 and 6 pupils.



The school's aim is to ensure children are able to build confidence, make progress with their learning, improve social skills and behaviour and when possible, return to mainstream school. Every student has a Key worker, who help pupils to overcome trauma or past or ongoing struggles and to be better versions of themselves, making better life choices.



The role is to teach a class with a maximum of 6 students in Key Stage 2. The school are ideally looking for a qualified teacher with experience teaching in UK schools, very enthusiastic and with strong behavioural management and a good command of written and spoken English.



The school is very central and is easily accessible via various transport links.



Essential requirements:

QTS, qualified teacher status.
Planning and teaching lessons to primary aged students following the National Curriculum.
Experience with challenging behaviour and SEMH and/or SEBD.
Experience supporting young people with special educational needs, specifically Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs.
Enthusiastic, resilient and positive approach.
Must have legal right to work in the UK.
