Tradewind Recruitment are looking to appoint a talented, ambitious, highly motivated Teacher of Maths who would like to take the role of a Lead Practitioner in a very high achieving Maths department.
This client is a mixed 11 - 19, outstanding, dynamic, exceptionally popular and progressive school set in an award winning educational learning environment. Examination outcomes makes this client one of the top performing non-selective schools in South London. Ofsted has judged this client to be 'Outstanding' in every area!
Students come first at the school and everything possible is done to support them. This is a very high achieving school and competition between students is encouraged and students thrive on it. Students feel safe and secure and they feel valued.
The school are looking for a Lead Practitioner of Mathematics. Applicants should be well qualified, inspirational individuals with an outstanding track record of raising achievement. The ability to teach A Level Mathematics is essential. You must hold a degree or equivalent qualification in this subject area and ideally have QTS. The client is looking for someone to play a full part in the life of the school community. You will be supporting the aims and the aspirational ethos of the school and set a good example at all times.

You must be able show evidence of demonstrating the ability to maintain the highest expectations for all pupils including the ability to progress pupils learning, ensuring the students reach appropriate levels of attainment in public examinations. The schools have one of the best pupil to teacher ratios of any secondary school in London and average class sizes are approximately 20 across all subjects.

The role you will be taking on is under the overall direction of the Deputy Headteacher/Director of Mathematics the Lead Practitioner is required to be an exemplar of teaching skills, lead the improvement of teaching skills, as well as take a leadership role in developing, implementing and evaluating policies in their workplace that contribute to school improvement. The Lead Practitioner will play a major role in delivering, promoting subject enrichment, enhancement and organising and participating in extra-curricular mathematics provision by inspiring colleagues to do the same

You will attend and participate in open evenings and student performances. Uphold the school's behaviour cover and uniform regulations. This role would also give you the opportunity to teach at A level if this is something you would be looking to do. The successful Teacher will be given the opportunity to work closely with other staff in a vibrant and aspirational faculty.

This client is located in Southwark and would benefit for Inner London salaries and the school is in a lovely leafy area of Southwark with excellent public transport links.
