About the School - Lead Practitioner of Science - Haringey, North London
Located in Haringey, North London this well-run school has been improving over the past 5 years and has recently been awarded a 'Good' Ofsted in all areas. The school has an intake of pupils from a low socioeconomic background and many of the students have English as a second language. This means that entry level ability in English, but also Maths and Science is lower than is expected nationally. The school has worked hard to bridge the gap but progress in Science has been slower than expected and the school is keen to adjust the curriculum to make the gains in attainment needed to bring this school above others in the borough. This school benefits from a strong leadership team, low staff turnover and children who are keen to learn. There is a real atmosphere of achievement at the school and all are pulling in the same direction! In terms of the Science department it is led by an exceptional HOD and has several promising NQT's who require some guidance and development.

About the Role - Lead Practitioner of Science - Haringey, North London
This is an essential role for the school and as such they are looking for a Science Teacher who teach outstanding lessons. As a post that will be responsible for tailoring the way Science is taught across the school the successful post holder will need to have good experience, ideally in a number of different settings. As someone who will be responsible for staff development this post requires someone with the ability to support staff and encourage them in a way that improves them without knocking their confidence. This is a great role that will allow the successful post holder to have a large amount of freedom in shaping its direction. It should be noted that this post does include class teaching at a 40 to 50% timetable commitment.
