Tradewind Recruitment is looking for a Learning Mentor to work alongside a specialist setting in Hillingdon. This is a longterm, full time role supporting and mentoring vulnerable students over the coming months. There is the option of the role potentially going permanent for the right person.

This place is a safe and caring education setting where the staff and students pride themselves on respect for themselves, others and the environment around them. They work with many different groups of children and students over a wide age range including;
*Pupils that have been fixed term or permanently excluded from school
*Pupils that are at risk of permanent exclusion
*Pupils with an identifiable special need and statement of Special Educational Need
The right person will;
*Have worked in an alternative provision before
*Be confident with challenging behaviour
*Promote healthy expression and how to apply rational thinking to every day decisions and actions

The role will involve;
*121 and/or small group work with learners focusing on core subjects
*Regular feedback and interaction with parents and carers
*Constant encouragement and willingness to go the extra mile

The setting benefits from strong leadership and a behavioural policy that has been well implemented and adhered to. Ofsted praised the Headteacher for their 'determination, commitment and vision' which in turn has created a very calm environment for students to make progress in. They are situated in the borough of Hillingdon and are easily accessible. The school also welcome drivers as they have a large carpark.
