Do you have a passion for helping young people achieve their full potential? Are you dedicated to providing support and guidance to students who may face barriers to learning? If so, we invite you to apply for the position of Learning Mentor at our school in the Borough of Tower Hamlets.

About the Role

We are looking for a compassionate and motivated Learning Mentor to join our supportive school community starting in September. This role is a unique opportunity to work closely with students, offering them the support and encouragement they need to succeed academically and personally.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work one-on-one and in small groups with students who need extra support with their learning and personal development.
  • Develop and implement strategies to help students overcome barriers to learning.
  • Build positive relationships with students, acting as a role model and mentor.
  • Monitor and report on student progress, maintaining accurate records.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external agencies to create tailored support plans.
  • Assist in the planning and delivery of enrichment activities and workshops.
  • Provide guidance on study skills, time management, and goal setting.

Requirements

  • Experience working with young people in an educational or mentoring capacity.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine commitment to helping students succeed.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in education, counseling, or mentoring are desirable but not essential.
