This is a great opportunity for experienced or aspiring Learning Mentor to start in September at a vibrant Secondary School in Wandsworth. This post would suit a graduate who is looking to gain some experience in schools with a view to perhaps going on to become an educational psychologist, counsellor, social worker or a secondary school teacher in the future. It will also suit an experienced teaching assistant or learning mentor who is particularly strong at giving pastoral support to vulnerable young people.
The successful Learning Mentor will be working in the specialist Pastoral team giving emotional support to 11-16-year olds who are struggling in the mainstream environment. Students could be attending the unit for a variety of reasons including self-harm, bereavement, emotional problems or being disruptive in class. You will benefit from a dynamic and hard-working staff team that really enjoy the work they do.
