Position: Behavioural Support Worker
Location: Bredbury, Stockport
Type: Full-Time, Long-Term
Salary: £80 to £95 per day
Qualifications:
- Level 3 Diploma or NVQ in Child Care OR
- Minimum two years of experience as a Teaching Assistant with evidence of training undertaken
- Current Team Teach Certificate
Experience and Skills:
- Proven experience working with children with various educational needs
- Knowledge of child development and learning processes
- Ability to motivate and support children in Literacy and Numeracy
- Familiarity with issues that may arise for children with Autistic or attachment needs
- Recognising and managing escalation in a child's mood with de-escalation strategies
Additional Knowledge and Understanding:
- A wide range of strategies to support children with different needs
- Stay calm and focused during a child's crisis
- Model acceptable behaviour and encourage social skills
- Liaise with other adults involved with the child
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to teach new concepts to groups
Responsibilities:
- Work collaboratively with staff to share effective strategies
- Provide advice and support to other team members
- Foster a supportive environment for both students and staff
