Learning Support Assistant (Flexible work)


Do you have a passion for working with children?

Are you looking for flexible work around your studies or wanting to build on your childcare experience?

Tradewind is currently welcoming applications for flexible learning support assistants who can support SEN Schools across Bedfordshire.

If you meet the criteria below, we will arrange for you to get registered with our fantastic team as soon as possible. You will be required to work at least 2-3 days a week and be open to work in different school settings. When Schools return the hours are 8.30-4pm and you will be required to support pupils with a range of complex needs.


  • Previous experience of working/volunteering with children with special education needs is essential.
  • Degree qualified (or working towards) is desirable.
  • Fun, enthusiastic, and patient personality.
  • Can commit to a minimum of 2 days a week from when Schools return.
  • Happy to accept phone calls on the morning when schools require cover.
  • Ideally, you will be looking to build on your childcare experience and want to progress within the education sector.
  • DBS or willing to complete asap.
  • Happy to register and provide documentation asap.

The SEN Schools we support in the local area predominantly cater for primary aged children, you will work with a range of year groups and needs. Children may have one or more of the following additional needs: Autism, SEMH, Speech & language difficulties, physical difficulties, and other complex needs. You may also be required to participate in swimming activities, as this is a part of the School day in several settings.
