The school pride themselves on their high aspirations or all children and they focus heavily on building children's confidence and belief in themselves, helping them to make good friends and to develop a wide range of interests and skills, as well as inspiring them to achieve academic excellence.
They are keen to appoint a learning support assistant who has good experience supporting children with special educational needs in a primary school setting. The headteacher is keen to appoint staff who can really add value to the school team so if you have any sporting or creative skills that are relevant for primary school children we would love to hear from you!
The role is to support a small group of children within KS2 (years 3, 4 5 or 6) who have special educational needs including speech and language difficulties, Autism, Global delay and social emotional and mental health difficulties.
You must be someone who demonstrates a positive, firm and confident approach. The role will require you to support children within class and work with the small groups of no more than 6 children, providing targeted interventions in Literacy, Maths and social communication.
The role is to begin in April/May 2019 and will continue for the full academic year until July 2012
This role would suit someone who has some experience as a learning support assistant and wishes to progress their career although they would also consider an enthusiastic graduate who is keen to gain experience within Special educational needs education.
The roles will involve:
*Work pupils who have special needs in KS2
*group intervention support for children
*Full time roles, 5 day per week
*Hours 8.30am - 4pm
To be considered for the Learning Support Assistant - Haringey role you must;
*Have at least 6 months teaching assistant experience
*Experience supporting children who have special needs
*Be a team player - this role requires someone who works well with teachers, pupils and parents
*Demonstrate commitment, resilience, success in your previous work experience
*Ideally you will be local to Waltham Forest
