Tradewind Recruitment is looking for inspiring new support staff to work alongside a specialist setting in Hillingdon. They need full time support and would like to appoint from a temp to perm placement in the summer 2019.

The role would be to support vulnerable secondary students aged between 11 and 19 years with severe learning difficulties (SLD), profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD) and autistic spectrum disorders (ASD). Some of the pupils may also have additional sensory or physical impairments or challenging behaviour.

They aim to provide the best possible education outcomes for their students by providing personalised learning programmes to help them achieve their best, which means that they adapt their curriculum to meet the needs of everyone.

The building is light and spacious, with large well-equipped classrooms and a number of specialist teaching areas. They also have their own hydrotherapy pool with overhead hoists to enable pupils with physical disabilities to access the pool.
There is a large hall which is used for PE, assemblies and for lunches for Lower School pupils. In the Sixth Form, there is a large life skills area to enable pupils to develop independence skills. This includes a kitchen and café, as well as a separate garden just for sixth form pupils.
They also boast a large and well-equipped sensory room, and there is also a sensory integration room for pupils with sensory processing difficulties.
Their dedicated department for pupils with multi-sensory impairments includes a darkroom for pupils with visual impairments.
Pupils with autistic spectrum disorders have access to a learning lodge where they can work quietly and without distraction. All pupils with severe learning difficulties have their own workstations and many of them follow a programme based in the TEACCH (Treatment and Education of Autistic and related Communication handicapped Children) system. Classrooms also have shared quiet rooms for individual work.

The role will involve;
*121 and/or small group work with learners across school
*Regular feedback and interaction with parents and carers
*Constant encouragement and willingness to go the extra mile
