Job Title: Learning Support Assistant

Location: South Liverpool - Primary School

Employment Type: Full-Time

Start Date: ASAP

Are you a compassionate and experienced individual with a passion for supporting the educational needs of pupils with SEN? An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join our team at a primary school in South Liverpool. This is a full-time position with an immediate start date.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. SEN Support: Provide tailored assistance to students with special educational needs, ensuring their inclusion and participation in all aspects of school life.

  2. Individualised Learning: Work closely with teachers and other support staff to implement and adapt learning activities, addressing the specific needs of SEN pupils.

  3. Progress Monitoring: Assist in tracking the progress of SEN pupils, providing feedback to teachers and contributing to the development of Individual Education Plans (IEPs).

  4. Collaboration: Collaborate with classroom teachers, SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator), and other professionals to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.

  5. Communication: Maintain open and effective communication with parents/guardians, providing updates on students' progress and collaborating on strategies for home and school.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  1. Relevant experience working as a Learning Support Assistant, with a focus on supporting pupils with SEN in a primary school setting.
  2. Understanding of various special educational needs, including but not limited to autism, dyslexia, and ADHD.
  3. Empathy, patience, and the ability to build positive relationships with students with diverse needs.
  4. Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  5. A Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable.
  6. Commitment to ongoing professional development in the field of SEN.
  7. Hold an enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to undertake a new one.
