Are you a compassionate and experienced individual with a passion for supporting the educational needs of pupils with SEN? An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join our team at a primary school in South Liverpool. This is a full-time position with an immediate start date.
Key Responsibilities:
SEN Support: Provide tailored assistance to students with special educational needs, ensuring their inclusion and participation in all aspects of school life.
Individualised Learning: Work closely with teachers and other support staff to implement and adapt learning activities, addressing the specific needs of SEN pupils.
Progress Monitoring: Assist in tracking the progress of SEN pupils, providing feedback to teachers and contributing to the development of Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
Collaboration: Collaborate with classroom teachers, SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator), and other professionals to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
Communication: Maintain open and effective communication with parents/guardians, providing updates on students' progress and collaborating on strategies for home and school.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Relevant experience working as a Learning Support Assistant, with a focus on supporting pupils with SEN in a primary school setting.
- Understanding of various special educational needs, including but not limited to autism, dyslexia, and ADHD.
- Empathy, patience, and the ability to build positive relationships with students with diverse needs.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- A Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development in the field of SEN.
- Hold an enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to undertake a new one.
