Learning Support Assistant

If so, Tradewind Recruitment have an exciting opportunity to join our team working as a Learning Support Assistant in an ASD High School based in Southport.
Tradewind are working with a High School based in Southport that specialises in supporting children with ASD. The school has a 'Good' Ofsted rating and are NAS certified. They are looking for a talented and experienced Learning Support Assistant to support their pupils.
Responsibilities:
- Work 1:1 and in small groups with children who require additional support
- Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to implement each child's tailored curriculum
- Assist students during outings designed to teach life skills (e.g. going to the shop, taking the bus etc.)
- Implement behaviour management strategies
- Participate in training sessions to enhance your skills
Requirements:
- Experience working with individuals with ASD is highly beneficial
- A patient and compassionate approach
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work within a team
- A commitment to safeguarding
To be considered for this position, you will:
- Have previous experience working with children or adults with ASD
- Have a full 10 year educational or employment history
- Have a DBS on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one
- Have the legal right to work in the UK
