Learning Support Assistant - mainstream SEN

Tradewind Recruitment are currently looking for a Learning Support Assistant with a Mental Health, care worker or youth worker background who will be based within a school in South Liverpool that caters for pupils aged 11-16 years. You will be working on a 1:1 basis and small group basis with pupils in a mainstream setting who are displaying Social Emotional and Mental Health Needs or may have other additional needs such as dyslexia or mild ASC.

This school is based in South Liverpool and wants to make a difference to the lives of young people and insist upon the highest standards of teaching and learning regardless of their stage of learning. You will support the pupils with national curriculum, on a 121 or group basis and aid the development of social skill, keeping them engaged in the classroom.

We look for:
* Experience working with young children in a coaching or academic capacity
* Previous experience with challenging behaviours
* Calm but positive personality, the ability to be empathetic when faced with challenging situations
* Skills to empower young people to make them believe they can achieve, encouraging learning
* Excellent listening skills
* Maths and English GCSE as a minimum, TA qualification or hold a degree
