An experienced LSA is needed for a primary school based in Goodmayes, Redbridge!

This friendly primary school is looking to recruit an LSA to support a pupil in Year 1 who has special education needs.

The role is to start in September on a full time basis (5 days per week) for the academic year 2020/2021.

The headteacher of this brilliant school is keen to recruit a Learning Support Assistant who has good experience and is confident in a 1-1 support role supporting a pupil with Autism. You will ideally be experienced with PECS and visual supports like visual timetables and will be able to build an excellent relationship with your 1-1, ensuring that they have a positive experience in school!

Rated good by Ofsted, this three form entry school is located in a friendly community in Goodmayes, Redbridge. There is a strong emphasis on pupil wellbeing in the school and you will be joining a hardworking, dedicated team teachers and support staff who put children at the heart of everything. The team are looking forward to starting back in September with a full cohort and look forward to a new Learning Support Assistant joining!

The role:

The role will involve supporting a pupil on a 1-1 basis going into the year 1 class. You will be working with the class teacher to implement fun and motivating activities with a focus on improving communication, literacy and language skills. You will be using PECS, and visual timetables as communication aids and will be working closely with the SENCO and speech and language therapist throughout the year to ensure that your pupil makes excellent progress.

Essential requirements:

This role requires an experienced SEN teaching assistants (6 Months + experience working in a primary school)
You must have experience supporting children on a 1-1 basis
Experience working children with Special educational needs
Ideally you will be living locally to the borough of Redbridge
