The specialist Provision in Newham accommodates 5 secondary aged pupils with a learning disability (autism and social, communication difficulties) in a classroom. You will be supporting them to do just the same things you and others do. This might be anything from cooking and dancing, to spending time in the sensory and soft rooms or taking part in leisure activities. You will help them to lead the life they choose. The school focuses on a person-centred support, tailored to individual's needs by following the SCERTS curriculum which plays to the student's strengths.

Salary and benefits
*Starting annual salary (before tax) - £15,600 (pro rota £18,560)
*Chance to increase to £17,550 after a period
*Work from 8.30am to 3.30pm (occasional 1 day till 3.55pm for meeting)
*Have the chance to become a teacher at the school

The Practitioner would:
*Help all students enjoy their learning and get as much out of life as they can
*Improve countless young lives
*Identify challenges and ensure that the pupils learn
*Support pupils with communication skills in a classroom
*Help pupils develop their communication and life skills in a classroom

The Practitioner we require should have:
*Experience working with pupils with special educational needs
*Team Teach Training is desired
*Experience in using behaviour techniques within a classroom
*Knowledge of teaching range Ks3 and Ks4.
*Must be Caring, Adaptable and highly intuitive
